Creative Industry Advocate, Strategist and Design Practitioner
Jo is a bold, experienced and creative design practitioner, strategic planning facilitator, marketing and communications advisor and curator. From her early career as an Education Curator at the NGV, Education Advisor at the ABC, and founder of the international Express Australia Inc; she has highly developed skills that integrate the visual. performing and media arts into program, policy and product design projects that test the boundaries and explore new connections and directions.
For ten years she has exhibited artists and designers on her 'Art Meets Nature' site biophiliarts.com. She has held senior management and consultancy roles in the Creative Industries across business, government, universities and non-profit sectors spanning Education, Media and Communications, Tourism, Museums, Regional Health and Regional Development.
Studio JOMO is Jo's creative design practice based in her bespoke Mid-Century Modern home (designed by distinguished architect, Peter McIntyre) in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland. There she designs monumental garden sculpture and furnishings.
Her regional arts advocacy work with her collective co-design lab group promote cultural and creative industries in regional economies, creativity as the key to strengthening regional identity and co-design as an approach to solving structural, policy and connectivity issues.
